Disney+ launched on Apple Vision Pro as a native experience designed for a new computing paradigm. Within this effort, I owned the navigation and viewing environment design, translating core Disney+ discovery and viewing concepts into a three-dimensional space.

The primary design challenge was the absence of established navigation conventions. Screen-based models for hierarchy and interaction did not directly apply, requiring a system that could be understood quickly by first-time users without relying on familiar patterns.

I was responsible for the information architecture and navigation design of the Vision Pro experience, defining the primary navigation structure and entry points. I designed controls for viewing environments and established their state behavior. I integrated 3D films as a new content type within Disney+, surfacing them through a dedicated main navigation entry point that enabled the content to be merchandised together as a collection and clearly signaled through a custom navigation icon.

I partnered with product management, engineering, and platform teams to ensure the navigation and viewing systems were technically viable and aligned with Apple’s interaction guidelines. Design decisions were documented to support consistency and future iteration.

This work was recognized by the W3 Awards with both Gold and Silver awards for Disney+ on Apple Vision Pro, honoring the experience across categories including Best VR Headset Experience, Experimental & Innovation, and Virtual & Immersive Media.

states for Disney+ on Apple Vision Pro Core destinations mirror the broader Disney+ ecosystem, while viewing environment controls are visually and spatially separated to clarify their role as controls rather than a content destination.

Project Momento Pins are core to Disney culture. To mark the launch of Disney+ on Apple Vision Pro, I partnered with the design director to create a project memento gifted to every designer who contributed to the work.
